Why Does My Heel Always Hurt
Getting treatment for your heel pain treatment is something you should look into if you suffer from chronic pain. There are many causes of heel pain. The pain itself is identified or divided into two groups, pain beneath the heel and pain behind the heel. A visit to your doctor will help to determine why you are having the heel pain and facilitate the proper treatment. The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. This is an inflammation of the fascia ligaments in your foot. This ligament attaches the heel to the back of the foot. When this ligament is stretched irregularly, it develops small tears which cause inflammation and pain in the heel. The first steps in the morning, after a period of rest or being off your feet are when the heel pain is most intense. Some of the root causes of plantar fascitis include no arch support in the shoe, being overweight, having flat feet, or a sudden foot injury. Does A Magnet Control Pain In Arthritis?
It is not clear whether magnets were discovered in China or Greece. In Traditional Chinese Medicine dating back to 2600BC, magnetic stones were used to correct imbalance in certain parts of the body. In the Vedas, 1500BC, the lodestone was mentioned in healing. Today an alloy containing iron, boron and neodymium is very light and practical to use on various parts of the body. This magnet is called the neodymium magnet. Although small, it is very powerful. A neodymium magnet of 8000 gauss weighs 20 gm while a comparable older alnico magnet weighs 90 Kg. Is there evidence that magnetic bracelets or other magnetic devices reduce pain of arthritis. Unfortunately there are no large controlled trials and no conclusive evidence to suggest that magnets are beneficial. A trial was published in the British Medical Journal in 2004 to determine whether magnetic bracelets will control pain in osteoarthritis of the knee and hip. The conclusion was that pain decreased in the group wearing magnets but the investigators were uncertain if it was a placebo effect. The reality is that more patients with arthritis are wearing magnetic bracelets and...

What You Should Know About Act
A national college admission examination, the ACT consists of subject area tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science plus an optional writing exam. However, in 1996 the official name of the organization was shortened to simply ACT to better reflect the broad array of programs and services offered beyond college entrance testing. There are three good reasons to take the ACT: 1. The ACT tests are universally accepted for college admission. Instead, the questions on the ACT are directly related to high school courses in English, mathematics, and science. In addition to the tests, the ACT also provides test takers with a unique interest inventory that provides valuable information for career and educational planning and a student profile section that provides a comprehensive profile of high school work and future plans. In selected states, the ACT is also offered in late September. The ACT tests are prepared according to the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, National Council on Measurement in Education 1985 ; Code of...

Tibet projects mystic thoughts to many western travelers. And indeed Tibet never fail to impress. Tibetan mountain ranges and landscapes are home to an immense diversity of species of rare plants and birds. Tibetan forests are also famous for its tremendous spectrum of herbs for Chinese medicines. But due to the freezing temperatures and geographical altitudes, China s tourist access to Tibet region has been very limited until recently. On July 1, 2006 Qinghai-Tibet Railroad commenced its passenger service, marking a remarkable milestone in China s infrastructure building. This opens up a way for adventurous tourists to travel from Beijing to the remote Tibet by train with a low budget. An estimated 90 of tourists would use the railroad to reach Lhasa, Tibet. It is an unique ground expedition across clear cascading streams, spectacular mountain ranges, and the colorful landscapes almost untouched by modern civilization. It would be the dream of urban travelers to experience nature with such a panoramic vision, indulging and rejuvenating for a true getaway from the hectic city-life. A Centennial Dream Comes True From its initial...

I Enjoyed The Day With Cardinals
I recently packed up some belongings and headed to a local park where I planned to spend the entire day. I did this because I was overwhelmed with the busyness of life and I knew that I needed to get away in order to have some effective hours of writing for my next book. So I packed the books I was reading, my three journals, a picnic lunch, plenty of water and tea, my camera, and my favorite blanket and I was off for a day at the park. I had no idea that my day would not be spent alone but that I would share it in the company of the cardinals. I have never been too fond of cardinals. I don t think that they are the prettiest bird really, and so I ll admit that I was not all that excited when I saw cardinals playing right near where I was about to set up camp for the day. I thought about wandering further into the park, but I decided against it because I was certain that I would scare the cardinals and that they would quickly leave me alone. I was wrong. Not only did I not scare the cardinals away, but I almost seemed to attract them to myself. They slowly but surely moved nearer and nearer to my blanket. They were not...

For Things To Change You Must Change, For Things To Get Better You Must Get Better
The biggest obstacles to change are fear, lack of motivation, lack of knowledge and lack of vision. People will not change if they fear failure, if they don t have a reason to, if they don t know how to or if they don t know where change will take them. If changes are to be lasting and successful, it is essential to have the necessary reinforcement and tools at your disposal to assist you in the transformation process. If you want to inspire change in others, you have to make their future rewards stronger than their current fears. First of all, we know that one must have the desire before change can take place. Therefore, dangling bait in front of somebody s nose is useless if it s not something they find desirable. What do they want, and do they want it enough. The desire has to be there. Second, their desire must be coupled with enthusiasm. They can t say to themselves, That would be nice. They really have to feel like, All right, let s do this. For lasting change to manifest in them, there is no room for half-heartedness or apathetic feelings on the part of your prospects. They must embrace change as their vehicle and step...
